Community Engagement Manager - Waterloo

The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for helping to build and support the Girl Scout presence in Waterloo and surrounding communities. As the Community Engagement Manager, you will help to cultivate membership growth, community engagement, volunteer support, and so much more! At Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois, we strive to live by the Girl Scout philosophy and support the council's mission, and we look forward to meeting you!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for cultivating community support throughout an assigned geographic area, to engage community members and increase awareness and participation within Girl Scouts.
  2. With the support of your Community Engagement team and volunteers, you will be responsible for new girl membership growth, to meet council goals within your territory.
  3. With the support of your community engagement team and volunteers, you will also be implementing and supporting plans to cultivate and increase additional volunteers as well.
  4. Attend and/or support council led programs that are scheduled throughout the year, as needed.
  5. In partnership with the Fund Development team, help to identify and cultivate potential donor leads within your territory and surrounding areas.
  6. Familiarity with stellar customer service practices, and the ability to build productive and professional relationships is a must!
  7. Pulls/prepares a variety of status reports, including activity, follow-up and adherence to goals.
  8. Ensures Girl Scouting is open to all girls and adults by delivering the Girl Scouts message of pluralism and diversity to members of the Council.
  9. Promotes and assists with Council-wide programs, activities public relations, and fund development endeavors.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned..

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree or 2 years' experience in outside sales and customer service preferred
  • Possess computer skills in Microsoft Office, including: Word, Excel, Outlook and customer relationship management systems or other data tracking systerms.
  • Ability to life 35 lvs.
  • Valid Driver's License, reliable transportation and proof of vehicle insurance.
  • Belief in and supportive of the mission of the Girl Scouts
  • Become a registered Girl Scout member..
