Community Engagement Manager - Cedar Rapids

The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for engaging and cultivating community support for an assigned geographic area and throughout the Council as assigned. The Community Engagement Manager analyzes market data, makes sales calls, recruits and supports girls to increase involvement in the Girl Scout program and achieve Council membership goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Responsible for recruiting girls and adult volunteers to increase membership in the Girl Scout organization.
2. In partnership with the Community Engagement team develop and execute a written community engagement and recruitment plan. Monitor membership and qualified leads, identify trends, and adjust strategies where needed to impact future cultivation of community and region.
3. Responsible for cultivating community support throughout an assigned geographic area to engage community members and increase awareness and engagement of the Girl Scout program.
4. Support Service Unit volunteers in planning and implementing recruitment events, year-end celebrations and other activities.
5. Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with school and pre-school administrators and principals to increase participation in the Girl Scout program.
6. Analyzes market data, makes sales calls, recruits & supports girls and adults and is responsible for achieving individual and council membership goals.
7. Recruit volunteers to support troop, community, regional and council-wide programming.
8. Responsible for achieving community engagement and development goals to recruit members, volunteers, and cultivate support for Girl Scouts.
9. Maintain Council relationships with United Ways and other community agencies as assigned.
10. Manages and coordinates budget and allocates resources wisely.
11. Identify and deliver funding opportunities to Development team.
12. Collaborate with Marketing Department to ensure Council Wide Marketing Strategies are in alignment and meet strategic objectives across multiple platforms.
13. Responsible for the accurate and timely maintenance and communication of recruitment events, such as the rally site, social media advertisement, school websites, etc.
14. Prepares a variety of status reports and ensures are required paperwork and reports are submitted within required timeframes.
15. Works with cross-functional teams to develop innovative techniques to ensure on going effective delivery of the recruitment and volunteer support strategies.
16. Ensures Girl Scouting is open to all girls and adults by delivering the Girl Scouts message of pluralism and diversity to members of the council.
17. Promotes and assists with Council wide programs, activities, public relations and fund development endeavors.
18. Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree or 2 years' experience in outside sales or recruiting preferred.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends, up to 80% of time outside the office
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook
• Ability to motivate volunteers
• Valid driver's license.
• Access to reliable transportation.
• Proof of vehicle insurance.
• Belief in and supports the mission of the Girl Scouts.
• Become a registered Girl Scout member.
