JOB SUMMARY

The Outreach manger is responsible for organizing and implementing the Council Outreach program's strategies for assigned region. Ensures all plans support council standards and reinforce the effective deliver of the Girl Scout experience and philosophy.  The Outreach Manger oversees the delivery of the Girl Scout program at Outreach sites.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

  1. Responsible for the development and implementation of strategic plans for the successful operation of the council's outreach programs that meet council goals.
  2. Oversees the delivery of the outreach programs within an assigned geographic area.
  3. Supervises the Outreach team; monitors and evaluates employee performance, providing ongoing feedback to maximize productivity and excellent customer service.
  4. Participates in the interviewing and selection of new hires; development and communication of employee and team goals; plans, assigns, and monitors work; trains and coaches staff and provides support for problem solving and conflict resolution.
  5. Manages all phases of outreach strategies from development through implementation of plans within a geographic area; ensures placement strategies are consistent with the philosophy and mission of Girl Scouts and the Council's policies.
  6. Works with Outreach Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, train, and maintain an Outreach Volunteer base for their region.
  7. Provides coaching and training opportunities to improve employee performance and job satisfaction.
  8. Collaborates with marketing on crafting messages and marketing materials used in recruitment efforts to increase visibility and knowledge of Girl Scouts and increase lead generation.
  9. Prepares a variety of status reports including: activity, follow-up, and adherence to goals.
  10. Manages and coordinates department budget and resource allocations.
  11. Works with the Outreach Director to establish policy and procedures for the outreach department as well as recruiting, training, and managing the staff and volunteers assisting with the sales program.
  12. Utilizes the Council's member relationship management systems to manage, support, and track interactions with volunteers by entering information timely and accurately.
  13. Works with cross-functional teams to develop innovative techniques to ensure on going effective delivery of the recruitment and placement strategies.
  14. Ensures Girl Scouting is open to all girls and adults by delivering the Girl Scout message of pluralism and diversity to members of the Council.
  15. Promotes and assists with Council wide programs, activities, public relations and fund development endeavors.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.
