Development Manager

JOB SUMMARY

The Development Manager is responsible for cultivating funding partnerships to meet council fundraising goals. The Development Manager works in partnership with other operational areas to support the mission, goals, and strategic priorities of the council.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

  1. Responsible for analyzing, developing, and implementing programs and strategies for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of funding prospects.
  2. Responsible for researching, identifying, and cultivating new and ongoing prospects to ensure a growing base of support.
  3. Develops effective working relationships with donors, volunteers, and foundation representatives to nurture connections to the organization and create lifetime givers.
  4. Ensures that all annual donors receive appropriate recognition and communications.
  5. Writes, edits, and develops proposals for individual and corporate support.
  6. Reports regularly on progress for fundraising initiatives.
  7. Assists with development of project plans and participates in budget development.
  8. Monitors development outcomes in order to increase fund development growth.
  9. Works as cross-functional team to develop innovative techniques for fundraising.
  10. Ensure Girl Scouting program is open to all girls and adults by delivering the Girl Scout message of diversity and inclusion.
  11. Promotes and assists with council wide programs, activities, public relations, and fund development endeavors.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent
  • Five years successful fundraising experience preferred
  • Individual and corporate fundraising experience
  • Excellent public speaking skills
  • Goal driven and results oriented
  • Believes in and supports the mission of the Girl Scouts
  • Become a registered Girl Scout member.
