Event and Sponsorship Specialist
The Event and Sponsorship Specialist is responsible for generating revenue, assisting with the planning, implementation and securing of sponsors and gift in kind for council lead fundraising events on camp properties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with Director of Property & Outdoor Program and Vice President of Marketing and Development to develop the annual events, goals, budget, strategy and plans
- Assist in the identification, cultivation, growth and retention of event sponsors through various channels
- Plan, organize, and execute logistics for all aspects of council revenue generating events held at camp
- Work with marketing team to create event communications timelines and promotional and event materials
- Actively research, identify and secure in-kind donors for each council sponsored event to reduce expenses through donations
- Supports other Fund Development initiatives
- Responsible to develop volunteer committees to support the goals of revenue generating events.
- Co-lead all event committee meetings by setting up meeting space, organizing materials, taking notes providing minutes
- Work with volunteer team to determine volunteer quantities and roles for each event, including updating descriptions and follow up as needed
- Ensure goals and expectations of each sponsor are met for all events
- Support the Director of Special Events with the promotion and implementation of non-girl scout events
- Additional duties as assigned
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree and/or two years equivalent experience
- Proven sales or fundraising experience, preferred
- Project and time management skills with the ability to multitask and rapidly change direction
- Experience with developing and maintain relationships with volunteers, donors, vendor and other stakeholders
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate and motivate a team
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and customer relationship management systems or other data tracking systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Believes in and supports the mission of the Girl Scouts.
- Become a registered Girl Scout member.
