Marketing Coordinator - Graphic Design

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the design and production of diversified marketing campaign materials that will effectively promote the Council's mission and increase awareness of the organization to ensure the Council goals are achieved. The Coordinator ensures the Council's marketing campaigns conform to Council policies and standards as established by Girl Scouts of the USA and the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois.                                       

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

1. Responsible for the design and implantation of brand standards. Reviews brand compliance across all media and communicating with staff to ensure consistent branding and messaging.
2. Creates and designs the Council's print and digital marketing materials including social media, web, and video.
3. Assists with writing copy for a variety of marketing materials.
4. Works with requestors to determine scope of project, makes recommendations and changes to art, design or copy.
5. Determines production volume; schedules projects, and communicates issues and deadlines.
6. Manages outsourcing of marketing projects and serves as the Council's liaison between the vendor and project requestor.
7. Responsible for the oversight and management of the Council's social media accounts.
8. Attends or assigns staff designee responsible for photography at Council events.
9. Assists in development and implementation of marketing strategies, campaigns, and content.
10. Works on marketing projects with girls and volunteers involved in the Council's Media Girl program.
11. Utilizes the Council's customer relationship management or data tracking systems.
12. Works with cross-functional teams to develop innovative techniques to ensure on going effective delivery of the recruitment and placement strategies.
13. Ensures Girl Scouting is open to all girls and adults by delivering the Girl Scout message of pluralism and diversity to members of the Council.
    Promotes and assists with Council wide programs, activities, public relations and fund development endeavors
14. Performs other duties as assigned.

 POSITION QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Graph Design, or other related fields or 3 years related experience
• Experience with Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesgin
• Experience with video editing
• Experience with writing copy for a variety of marketing venues
• Knowledge and understanding of printing specifications and process
• Ability to work some evenings and weekends
• Excellent computer skills and knowledge of the most current Microsoft applications and experience with customer relationship management systems or other data tracking systems
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift 35 lbs
• Valid driver's license
• Access to reliable transportation and proof of vehicle insurance
• Belief in and supports the mission of the Girl Scouts.
• Become a registered Girl Scout member
