Your day as a Program Facilitator

Are you passionate about making a difference in under-served communities? Join our team at Girl Scouts of Eastern IA and Western IL as a Program Facilitator, where you'll have the opportunity to deliver our empowering Girl Scout program to girls at local schools and in partnership with other youth serving organizations. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in contributing to and implementing plans to serve girls that face barriers to participating in volunteer-led troops.

You'll be at the forefront of expanding our reach to ensure that all girls have access to the incredible opportunities that Girl Scouts has to offer by delivering the Girl Scout program during the school day as well as after school. Each program aligns with the Girl Scouts four core initiatives: STEM, Outdoors, Life Skills, and Entrepreneurship. What you need to be successful

To be successful in the role of Program Facilitator at Girl Scouts of Eastern IA and Western IL, there are a few key skills and qualifications that we're looking for. First and foremost, we're seeking individuals who possess self-management and confidence, as you'll be responsible for delivering the Girl Scout program independently. Active listening skills are crucial, as you'll be working closely with girls and their families to understand their needs and interests. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential for effectively conveying information and building relationships with various stakeholders.

Customer service skills are also important, as you'll be interacting with community partners and potential girl members. Being organized and detail-oriented will help ensure smooth program implementation, while maintaining confidentiality is vital in protecting our members' privacy. While experience working with youth is preferred, it is not mandatory. Additionally, candidates must be at least 18 years old, possess basic computer skills, have the ability to lift 35 lbs, hold a valid driver's license with a good driving record, and have access to reliable transportation.
