Site Manager/Camp Ranger

The Site Manager/Camp Ranger manages all aspects of camp property and works closely with camp directors, volunteers, and council staff to ensure that camp and facility users have a safe and successful experience. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

  1. Manages all aspects of camp property including year-round grounds maintenance, site maintenance, perimeter boundaries, and inventory of tools, equipment and supplies.
  2. Assists with repairs and maintenance all Council facilities, as needed.
  3. Responsible for the camp property budget
  4. Cleans and maintains buildings and equipment as needed.
  5. Monitors site for damage caused by weather or vandalism and reports findings to the Vice-President of Property.
  6. Supervises seasonal maintenance personnel.
  7. Schedules and implements seasonal campsite facilities services maintenance.  (water connections, sewer pumping, major repairs, etc.)
  8. Acts as a professional campsite representative and assists campers and camp visitors as they enter the camp for their stay. 
  9. Follows GSUSA, ACA, and council policies and guidelines and ensures compliance with relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and codes.
  10. Assure security of grounds and facilities year-round.
  11. Works with cross-functional teams to develop innovative techniques to ensure on going effective delivery of the Girl Scout experience for stakeholders.
  12. Identifies and seeks out opportunities to leverage existing system technology.
  13. Researches and identifies new technology to enhance system functionality and leverage the work of the council.
  14. Ensures Girl Scouting is open to all girls and adults by delivering the Girl Scout message of pluralism and diversity to members of the Council.
  15. Promotes and assists with council wide programs, activities, public relations and fund development endeavors.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.

 POSITION QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Experience in grounds and property maintenance.
  3. Basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical skills and mechanical repair.
  4. Ability to lift 60 lbs or more consistently.
  5. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  6. Familiarity with the use of power equipment.
  7. Ability to work in and withstand extreme weather conditions
  8. Ability to work long hours with physically demanding work 
  9. Able to pass a health physical 
  10. Supervisory skills.
  11. Valid driver's license.
  12. Access to reliable transportation and proof of vehicle insurance.
  13. Belief in and supports the mission of the Girl Scouts.
  14. Become a registered Girl Scout member.
